We know that not everyone enjoys dental flossing diligently every day. Sometimes it is due to manual dexterity, such as being able to wrap the tiny strand around your fingers and pushing it through the crevices of your teeth. The good news is, there are other flossing methods besides dental picks and dental wax.
Water flossers have helped many people resolve their flossing issue to effectively clean teeth and prevent dental problems without additional stress or worry. Today, Dr. Tatyana Kolodner and our dental team are happy to help you explore this simple but effective flossing technique with some tips with you on how to use a water flosser in Studio City, California.
Step 1 – Fill the flosser tank with warm water, put it back on its base and replace the lid if there is one. Next, pick the tip you would like to use to clean your smile and place it securely on the handle. Choose the amount of pressure you would like the tool to use and you are ready to go.
Step 2 – Floss by leaning over the sink and placing the tip in your mouth. Wrap your lips around the wand and turn it on. If you keep your lips around the flosser you will avoid splashing water as you floss.
Step 3 – You can most effectively floss your back teeth by aiming the tip just above the gumline and rinsing the area. Move from tooth to tooth using this technique. When you have cleaned between each tooth, turn the flosser off and remove the tip by pressing the eject button.
By following these easy steps you will be on your way toward a healthy, confident smile!
